Interior Architecture
The redesign of Donum Home at The Donum Estate introduces significant design improvements aimed at enhancing the guest experience at this renowned wine destination. The new interior design includes various architectural elements and bespoke furniture that enhance comfort and wellbeing, which complement the beautiful Californian landscape surrounding the estate. It features five tasting rooms, each designed to provide panoramic views of the picturesque rolling hills and San Pablo Bay. This layout allows guests to enjoy award-winning Pinot Noir of Donum within an ambiance that balances sophistication with intimacy.
David has created a beautiful space and experience for our community. The merging of these design principles with the local landscape and materials has made a stunning space and environment where one can enjoy our wines and collection while fully appreciating the land where we are so privileged to sit. The construction gave us the chance to reflect and rehang part of The Donum Collection and introduce new works. We love our new additions, including Jeppe Hein’s glass mirror balloons that hang from the ceiling. The piece moves subtly with the wind and refracts and multiplies the sunlight. The new works, furniture and redesign are the perfect way to mark this moment celebrating our 20-year anniversary

The bespoke furniture pieces seamlessly integrate into the space, creating a refined yet relaxed ambiance that invites guests to unwind. Every detail, from the California granite stone tables to the rattan screens, is meticulously crafted to interact harmoniously with the abundant natural light and the breathtaking scenery of the estate. This dedication to detail beautifully complements the artistic vision at Donum Home, where an impressive collection of artworks from around the world can be found, including newly introduced and thoughtfully repositioned pieces from the estate’s signature collection.
The Donum Estate is highly unique, surrounded by one of the world’s most beautiful sculpture parks and award-winning wine. I am honored to have designed interiors and bespoke furniture among so many incredible artists like Louise Bourgeois, Lynda Benglis, and Olafur Eliasson.
