Garde Hvalsøe and Dinesen Showroom
Aarhus, Denmark
Interior architecture
This project envisions a home-inspired showroom that seamlessly blends the rich heritage of the 1898 Mejlborg building with innovative contemporary design. The ground floor has been transformed into six distinct rooms, each styled to evoke the ambiance of a home while showcasing the craftsmanship of the prominent Danish flooring company Dinesen and cabinetmaker Garde Hvalsoe.
It was an important premise for us that the echo of history could be felt as the customer enters the door and we wanted to move away from the usual showroom experience. David has created a unique destination that we believe sets a new benchmark for showing exclusive craft and design in an inspiring and surprising way

Each space features unique color schemes derived from the ornate ceilings, creating an inviting atmosphere that connects past and present. A dramatic dark entrance leads visitors into an experience that culminates at a striking monolithic wooden staircase, a symbol of the raw beauty of nature’s materials. Outside, pine trees bridge the gap between the natural and the crafted, reinforcing the narrative of connecting history with modern luxury.
