Garde Hvalsoe Showroom
Copenhagen, Denmark
Interior architecture
The showroom and office for Garde Hvalsøe has been reimagined from a former car assembly garage into an atmospheric space that honors Scandinavian design heritage. Spanning 420 square meters, the layout introduces the concept of “homes within the home,” offering a balance of intimacy and scale that effectively addresses client needs while showcasing Garde Hvalsøe’s bespoke cabinetry.
I was inspired by the works of minimalist sculptors Carl Andre and Donald Judd on how to divide the open space and create a calm and minimalist backdrop that highlights the rich Garde Hvalsoe story, products and craft.

Featuring a diverse range of kitchen designs, luxurious walk-in closets, and custom wine rooms, this project encapsulates the essence of Garde Hvalsøe’s philosophy, providing an inviting environment that showcases the brand’s craftsmanship. Natural materials dominate the design, with lightly oiled oak floors and a striking dark smoked oak pavilion at the entrance that creates a seamless transition from the busy exterior to a calming interior. Custom furniture pieces, including a 12-seater table crafted from Dinesen ash planks, emphasize luxury and attention to detail.
