Georg Jensen Store Mount Street
London, UK

Interior architecture

In 2015, Georg Jensen opened its flagship boutique on Mount Street, a 175-square-meter store designed to showcase the brand’s esteemed collection of hollowware, jewellery, and watches. The interior is thoughtfully divided into distinct areas, each embodying unique atmospheres while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic reflective of the Georg Jensen identity. The first-floor features elegant black Art Deco-inspired arches that enhance the intimate shopping experience, guiding customers through areas dedicated to gold and silver jewellery displayed in integrated wall cases to highlight their exquisite details. The hammered terrazzo counter references the craftsmanship of silversmithing, seamlessly connecting these spaces.

Customers are then led to a newly introduced men’s section, characterized by floor-to-ceiling timber slats that invoke a warm, Nordic sensibility. The lower-level spans three dedicated zones: a brightly lit hollowware area with a custom-designed wooden table by Laura Bergsø, a private sales space for heritage jewellery, and a comfortable seating area for exclusive clientele. Materials such as dark walnut, honed terrazzo, black steel, and light grey wall surfaces enhance the sophisticated ambiance. The project encompassed planning, concept and design development, tendering, and on-site construction oversight, culminating in a refined retail experience that beautifully marries craftsmanship with contemporary design.
