Pacific Heights House was transformed through materiality, colour, craft and a carefully considered movement through the home. Set within a historic house in San Francisco, the renovation includes a new rear extension that opens the building towards larger views of the Bay Area.
The interior was developed as a sequence of changing textures and colours, moving between rooms for gathering, retreat, tea, meditation and family life. Oak, limestone, Danish brick, textile, colour and carefully made details give each space its own character, while allowing the house to hold together as one calm and intuitive whole.
The movement through the home was designed in dialogue with a Feng Shui master, so that light, orientation and daily ritual support how the family lives. Every surface and junction was considered with care, creating a house where material depth and human rhythm work closely together.
