Renovation and interior

2020

Vester Voldgade Penthouse is a home shaped by the potential hidden inside an existing roof structure in central Copenhagen. Rather than treating the apartment as a finished frame, the renovation opens the building from within, allowing height, daylight and the character of the old construction to become part of daily life.

"The apartment needed more light and more air. By opening the roof and working carefully with the existing structure, the home could feel much larger without losing its character."

Natural materials, bespoke furniture and a sculptural spiral staircase bring warmth and precision to the interior. The living space connects to an open kitchen and dining area, with glass doors opening towards the terrace. The result is a penthouse where the existing structure is not only preserved, but used to create a more open, personal and generous way of living.
