Interior architecture in listed building

Langelinieskuret Wine Bar is set inside the former goods warehouse on Copenhagen’s harbourfront, designed by Vilhelm Dahlerup and completed in 1894. The work gives the heritage protected interior a new use, while staying close to the building’s stone facade, vaulted ceiling and long connection to the waterfront.

"I wanted the wine bar to connect with the building through materiality, and then to make the large space feel more intimate for the people using it."
David Thulstrup

The interior is shaped by material contrasts that belong to the building. Rusted steel refers to the original promenade railings, polished Öland stone connects to the exterior walls and black stained timber grounds the room. Under the barrel vaults, portals in steel and Søuld eelgrass panels divide the large space into more intimate settings, while also softening the acoustics.
