Midfjordur Lodge is a private fishing lodge in northwest Iceland, designed for a remote landscape shaped by river, weather and open terrain. The lodge is arranged with two symmetrical wings around sheltered courtyards, creating places to gather, withdraw and look out across the landscape.

"The lodge is designed as protection in the Icelandic landscape, but not as a retreat from nature. Even inside, the river and weather should remain close to your senses"
David Thulstrup

Aluminium gives the exterior strength against the Icelandic weather, while large openings, protected outdoor spaces and a close relationship to the terrain allow nature to feel present from within. Designed for fishing guests, guides and shared meals after time outdoors, the lodge brings shelter and landscape into direct contact.
